Beth Courtney-Long, Board Treasurer

  • Occupation: Health Scientist at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

  • Beth Courtney-Long has approximately 30 years of experience both in the health care and public health sectors. She has spent several years of her career working with people with disabilities to maximize function and accessibility. For three years, she served as treasurer with for the Henderson Middle School Foundation where her son was a student.  Beth holds a Master of Arts in Occupational Therapy from Tufts University and a Master of Science in Public Health from Emory University.

Karen Courtney-Long, Board Secretary

  • Home: Decatur, GA

  • Karen Courtney-Long has over thirty years’ experience working in the federal government, working for agencies including the Indian Health Service and the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention. She has also previously served as the PTSA President for Henderson Middle School. Karen earned a M.P.A. with honors from Georgia College & University.

Betsy Grinder

  • Home: Corry, PA

  • Occupation: Owner, Your Daily Serving & First 3PF Incubator Farmer

  • As the owner of Your Daily Serving, Betsy offers the Corry area a healthy meal delivery service that has grown in to so much more the last three years. With the help of her community, 3PF, and her family she has been able to make positive changes in her little town, in many lives, and continues to shape the way we look at our plates each day —from field to family.

Julia McCray

  • Home: Pleasantville, PA

  • Occupation: Artist/Entrepreneur & Executive Director for Allegheny Forest Alliance

  • Julia McCray is an entrepreneur, artist/instructor, and advocate of rural life and healthy rural communities with experience in tourism promotion, municipal administration and planning, economic development, and non-profit leadership, fundraising, and administration. She is currently employed as Executive Director of the Allegheny Forest Alliance, a non-profit which advocates for forest health and community stability through sustainable forest management. Julia is passionate about creativity’s role in health and engaging youth and adults in the arts.

Ashley Lawson

  • Home: Erie, PA

  • Occupation: Founder, Lawson & Associates, LLC

  • Ashley is committed to her community and believes that everyone should do something to make a difference in their town. She serves as Chairwoman for the Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority, Policy Co-Chair for the Erie County Food Policy Advisory Council, and serves on the board of trustees for the Jefferson Educational Society where she is also President of their Civic Leadership Academy Alumni Network. In 2019 Ashley was named one of the Erie Reader’s “40 Under 40.” Her passion for public policy stems from a hope that everyone can love their community as much as she does.

P.C. “Hoop” Roche

  • Home: Corry, PA

  • Occupation: Senior Consultant, Strategy Solutions & Executive Coach, CEOERIE

  • Hoop is the former CEO of $100mm multi-national Plastics Packaging Company, consultant to NFP organizations, and community involved citizen. He has extensive board experience in both for profit and NFB organizations. Hoop also coaches CEOs and senior staff in numerous local manufacturing and service companies.

Shannon Wohlford

  • Home: Lake City, PA

  • Occupation: Marketing Manager, Blue Zones Project by Sharecare

  • Shannon’s experience working with Blue Zones Project, a community health and well-being initiative, gave her an opportunity to live out her sense of purpose. She continues to support projects that help communities create healthier, more active lifestyles for all and considers it necessary work. Shannon believes when well-being is prioritized, not just for a few but for all, impactful, positive change will ensue.
